Helmed by Siva, Tamil fantasy action drama which was supposed to create history at box office suffered a major blow. On second day of release, movie minted only ₹9 crore in India, early estimates reported by Sacnilk. On opening day, movie earned ₹24 crore with a maximum in Tamil languages (14.9 crores), followed by Telugu version minting ₹5.5 crore and Hindi ₹3.5 crore. ding two-day collection, total stands at ₹33 crore, per Sacnilk.

Kanguva h an overall 18.57 per cent Tamil occupancy on Friday, with maximum reported in Chennai (30 per cent).

Apart from Suriya and Bobby, movie also stars Disha Patani and Yogi Babu in pivotal roles. Karthi has a cameo role, marking his first movie with his bror Suriya.
