Kanguva Postponed: What's Causing The Delay In Release of Suriya-Bobby Deol Starrer?

Suriya's pan-India film Kanguva is all set for release. The trailer of the Siva directorial has generated immense hype and all eyes are on its release on October 10, coinciding with Dussehra. However, of late, rumours are rife that the film might get postponed and one of the major reasons for this could be its big clash with Rajinikanth starrer Vettaiyan.

What is causing the rumoured delay in Kanguva release?

If the rumours are to be believed, the makers of Kanguva are now eyeing October 31 as its release date, which will coincide with Diwali. As per chatter in the trade circles, the makers have postponed the date to avoid a clash with Vettaiyan, another big pan-India release, starring Rajinikanth, Fahadh Faasil and Amitabh Bachchan.

Industry insider AB George shared a tweet on X, sharing and detailing on the new information. He tweeted, “Due to distributors request #Suriya’s pan Indian movie #Kanguva postponed to Deepavali. October 31 release.” Although the news is not certain yet, an official confirmation in the regard is highly awaited from the makers' side.

In the upcoming film, Bobby Deol plays the antagonist. The Animal star plays the role of villain Udhiran in the movie, headlined by Suriya. The film marks Bobby’s debut in Tamil cinema. Billed as a “mighty valiant saga”, Kanguva is directed by filmmaker Siva. The film is backed by UV Creations and Studio Green also features actor Disha Patani. Music is composed by Devi Sri Prasad. It will be released in 3D in 10 different languages.

In the movie, Suriya will play a double role. This is yet another reason that the film has stoked curiosity among his fans.
