Lover teaser out, Manikandan-Gouri Priya come of age in Prabhu Ram Vyas' directorial debut

The highly anticipated Tamil film Lover is set to grace the silver screen on February 14, 2024, starring Manikandan and Gouri Priya Reddy in the lead. Marking the directorial debut of Prabhu Ram Vyas, the coming of age falls within the romantic drama genre. Lover is being bankrolled by Million Dollar Studios and M R P Entertainment who is known for backing Manikandan's Good Night.

The teaser offers a sneak peek into a college love story, transitioning into a touching coming-of-age narrative where the lead couple experiences the trials of separation. The female lead's departure for another man becomes an important moment, exploring the male lead's journey to overcome the loss of love.

When Prabhu Ram Vyas spoke about Lover

Speaking with CE in an earlier interview, director Prabhu revealed that Lover will talk about what goes into making a relationship work. It will portray the dynamics of a relationship between a man and a woman. Vyas previously helmed the YouTube web series LIVIN, which starred Kanna Ravi and Amrutha Srinivasan in pivotal roles.

It was also a story revolving around contemporary live-in relations. Asked if Lover is similar to LIVIN, Vyas shared, "While LIVIN had a light-hearted take on modern relationships, Lover will be a little more serious with drama and intense emotions involved."

Manikandan was last seen in Good Night whereas Gouri Priya is comparably a new face in showbiz with just two releases before Lover - Mad and Modern Lover Chennai.
