Lubber Pandhu On OTT: Harish Kalyan and Attakathi Dinesh starrer Tamil sports drama is written and directed by newcomer Tamizharasan Pachamuthu. The film hit theatres on September 20, 2024, and received a positive response from audiences. Despite stiff competition from Rajinikanth's Vettaiyan and Karthi's Meiyazhagan, Lubber Pandhu has proven to be a success at the Tamil box office. Following its theatrical run, the film is now preparing for its digital premiere after a brief delay.

Lubber Pandhu to stream on Disney+ Hostar

As per the latest reports, Lubber Pandhu's OTT release is expected by November 1, 2024. Harish Kalyan’s sports drama will be available on Disney+ Hotstar. Although an official announcement is still pending, reports suggest that the premiere is aligned with the upcoming merger between Disney+ Hotstar and Jio Cinema, which is happening at the end of October, following the merger of the Star and Viacom 18 groups.

Initially, Lubber Pandhu was scheduled to stream outside India on the Simply South and Tentkotta platforms starting on October 18. However, reports suggest that due to the requirement for the film to debut on Disney+ Hotstar first, its release outside India has now been officially postponed.

Lubber Pandhu OTT release delay due to successful theatre run or merge?

A few reports also suggest that the film's online release has been delayed because of its impressive run in theatres. Simply South shared this update, noting the movie's strong box office performance, which has left fans outside India eagerly awaiting a new streaming date.

The platform stated, "As Lubber Pandhu continues to do exceptionally well in cinemas, we are postponing its streaming release. We will announce the new date later on our social media channels. Please follow us and turn on notifications for the streaming update."

Produced by Prince Pictures, Lubber Pandhu tells the story of two cricketers competing against each other in a rural setting, highlighting their personal and professional struggles while testing their skills and emotions. The film features music by Sean Roldan and includes performances by Swasika, Sanjana Krishnamoorthy, Kaali Venkat, Devadharshini, and Bala Saravanan, among others.
