Nagarjuna Joins Rajinikanth Starrer Coolie, Actor's First Look In Lokesh Kanagaraj's Film Out

Nagarjuna Joins Coolie:  The movie marks the 171st project of superstar Rajinikanth. Directed by Lokesh Kanagraj, the movie remains one of the most anticipated films. On the occasion of Nagarjuna's birthday, the makers of the film surprised fans by announcing that he would play a pivotal role in the movie as well. 

Nagarjuna joins Rajinikanth starrer 

On August 29, on the occasion of the actor's 65th birthday, the makers of Coolie announced that he was a part of the film. The movie is headlined by Rajinikanth and is said to boast an ensemble cast. The makers announced Nagarjuna being a part of the film with a special character poster.
 

Sharing the character look online director of the film Lokesh Kanagraj wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Kicked to have King @iamnagarjuna sir joining the cast of #Coolie as #Simon Welcome on board and wishing you a very happy birthday sir.” In the poster, the actor could be seen in a monochrome photo seated on a throne. He could be seen adorning his golden watch as well. The actor will play the role of Simon in the movie.

A day earlier, the makers welcomed the Manjummel Boys fame Soubin Shahir on board the movie. Director Lokesh Kanagaraj shared his first look at the movie on his social media handle and wrote, "Kicked to have #SoubinShahir sir joining the cast of #Coolie as #Dayal. Welcome on board sir." 

The film is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, who is known for Kaithi, Leo, and Vikram, which starred Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan. According to reports, Rajinikanth will sport a salt-and-pepper look with a hairstyle and beard in Coolie, reminiscent of his look in Kaala. According to reports, The music and background score for the film is composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Coolie is scheduled to hit theatres in 2025 in standard and IMAX formats. The film will be released in Tamil, with dubbed versions in Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada. In addition to the IMAX format, the makers are also planning to release the film in 2D and 3D formats.
