Nayanthara Vs Dhanush: Actors Give Each Cold Shoulder As They Attend Wedding Together Amid Feud

Nayanthara and Dhanush have been a mixup in a massive controversy over her Netflix documentary Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale released on November 18. In an open letter, the actress revealed that Dhanush sent her a legal notice demanding ₹10 crore for alleged copyright infringement as the documentary features BTS footage from his production Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. Now, a new video is going viral from a wedding on social media where both the actors are seen ignoring each other despite being seated in the front row with an aisle between them.

Nayanthara and Dhanush ignore each other at a wedding, video goes viral

On November 21, a security firm posted a video of Nayanthara attending the wedding dressed in a pink saree and her hair up in a bun. Her husband Vignesh also accompanied her in a traditional white veshti. The actor posed for a few pictures before sitting in the front row at the wedding and chatting with other guests. The camera soon cuts and shows Dhanush sitting in the front row too, on the other end of the aisle.

The video quickly spread on X (formerly Twitter), with many finding it amusing that the actors were seated next to each other yet seemed to ignore one another. One user even shared a picture of Sivakarthikeyan with Nayanthara and Vignesh, jokingly referring to them as Dhanush’s 'nightmares'.

Music composer Anirudh Ravichander and other celebrities also attended the wedding.

How did the Nayanthara and Dhanush controversy start?

It all began when Nayanthara shared an open letter on Instagram, addressing Dhanush for not providing a no-objection certificate (NOC) for using footage from Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in her documentary, Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale. Directed by Vignesh, Naanum Rowdy Dhaan featured Nayanthara in the lead role and was where she and Dhanush fell in love. She also mentioned that Dhanush had sued them for ₹10 crore over a 3-second behind-the-scenes clip used in the trailer.

Although Dhanush did not respond to the claim, his father, Kasthuri Raja, spoke to Tamil Samayam, stating, “Work is important to us. We are moving forward. We don’t have time to answer those who chase us or talk behind our backs. Like me, my son is focused only on his work.” He declined to comment on the allegations that Nayanthara had waited two years for the NOC.
