Nayanthara, on Saturday, November 16, shared an open letter launching an attack on Dhanush K Raja, calling him a “tyrant” and small-hearted person. Why did Nayanthara go public with her allegations against Dhanush?

Taking to her Instagram handle, Nayanthara shared a 3-page letter revealing reason behind delay in release of her upcoming documentary, which was announced in 2022. documentary offers a glimpse into life of Ly Superstar, her choices, love life and career. To show how and when she fell in love with her now husband Vignesh, she approached Dhanush and his team to allow her to show content from her movie. Her team moved mountains to seek permission and engaged in multiple conversations over year to acquire NOC, but his team didn’t budge, compelling her team to use BTS visuals and a video shot on ir personal phone. On seeing this in trailer, Dhanush’s team immediately sent her a legal notice, irking actress.

Naanum Rowdy Dhaan played a crucial role in shaping her career and it was one of successful movies, despite Dhanush predicting to be a dud.

"What's even more shocking is your legal notice after release of trailer of Netflix documentary. We were startled to re those lines wherein you questioned usage of some videos (just three seconds) which were shot on our personal devices and that too BTS visuals that are alrey very much publicly present on social media and claimed a sum of Rs 10 crore as damages for a mere 3 seconds. This is an all-time low from you and speaks so much about your character. I wish you were half person you portray to be on stage in audio launches in front of your innocent fans, but clearly you do not practice what you preach, at least not for me and my partner (sic),” an excerpt from her post res.

She also claimed that Dhanush is not what he portrays in front of his fans. "It's almost been 10 years since release of film, and it is a long time for someone to continue to be this vile while wearing a mask in front of world. I have not forgotten all horrible things that you said about film that was one of your biggest hits as a producer and a film that is loved by all even today (sic)," she ded.

Nayanthara and Dhanush’s war: Where did it all begin?

It all begins with Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, which starred Nayanthara alongside Vijay Sethupathi, while Vignesh helmed movie. During shooting, rumours were rife that Vignesh went over budget of film, upsetting Dhanush (who was a producer). So, he predicted that film would doom. But to his surprise, movie turned out to be a commercial success.

In her letter, she also mentions same, “ words you said pre-release have left some unhealable scars to us alrey. I learnt through film circles that your ego was supremely hurt after film became a blockbuster. Your displeasure over its success was perceptible even to common man through award function connected with this film (Filmfare 2016) (sic).”

Since n, two share sour relations and this could be reason behind her not working with Dhanush or under his banner.
