Thalapathy 69: Seems like Tamil star Vijay is all set to go out with a bang. His final movie before he enters politics full-time has been officially greenlit. The project will be helmed by H Vinoth and the first look has suggested that it will be a political film, a decision that seems motivated by his inclination to enter the political arena with his party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. More details of the film are highly awaited. Anirud will compose the music for Thalapathy 69 and the project will be bankrolled by KVN Productions.

Here's the first look of Vijay's Thalapathy 69

In the teaser poster of Thalapathy 69, Vijay is seen holding a lit torch in his hand. Although the actor's look in the movie was not revealed, it was accompanied by the text 'torch bearer of democracy'. Given Vijay's imminent political entry, it will be interesting to see how his last movie pans out and how political is it.

Reacting the announcement, a social media user wrote, "Earth-shattering Poster (sic)." Another one commented, "Massss posterr!!! So excited for the final ride." The movie will hit the big screens in October 2025. This means that he will look to stand in the 2026 Tamil Nadu state assembly elections. However, nothing can be said about his political entry so far.

Vijay becomes highest paid Indian actor with Thalapathy 69

With GOAT release done, the focus has shifted to Vijay's next, Thalapathy 69. If reports are to be believed, Thalapathy 69 will give Vijay his biggest paycheck yet. Industry insiders have claimed that he will be paid ₹275 crore for this film, making it his highest salary so far, even beating what he earned from GOAT.

However, Vinoth's recent comment about the film not being about the "budget and the star" could hint that the focus of the film would be on the storytelling rather than the cost and the actors on board.
