Thangalaan: Chiyaan Vikram Hints At A Sequel, Says 'Not Joking We Can Even Make Four Parts'

Chiyaan Vikram is gearing up for the release of his action adventure Thangalaan. Helmed by Pa Ranjith, the movie will hit the theatres on August 15 after several delays. Now, ahead of the release, the actor split the beans if a sequel is in the pipeline.

Will Thangalaan have four parts?

In a recent press conference, Chiyaan Vikram was asked if there would be a sequel to Thangalaan, to this, the actor replied that there is a "scope". He added that makers are planning to make either a prequel or sequel of the movie. "We will definitely make the next part. We can even make four parts, as many storylines are associated with it. I am not joking. The stories will be different for the upcoming films. The protagonist’s look and costumes will differ for the other parts," the actor added.

The upcoming movie's storyline is based on real-life incidents in Kolar Gold Fields. In the movie, Vikram will be seen in a never-seen-before avatar playing a tribal fighter who only looks out for his people. His tribe is unwelcoming to foreigners and will spill blood if they detect even an ounce of threat. The story follows Thangalaan, a fierce tribal leader during the British Raj, who sets out to stop Aarathi, an apparent sorceress, after earning her wrath when assisting British general Lord Clement in tracing gold in their village. 

What else do we know about Thangalaan?

Produced by Studio Green, Neelam Productions and Jio Studios, the movie stars Malavika Mohanan in the antagonist role, while it also stars Parvathy Thiruvothu, Daniel Caltagirone, Hari Krishnan Anbudurai and Vettai Muthukumar, in pivotal roles.

Apart from Thangalaan, Vikram also has Dhruva Natchathiram: Chapter One – Yuddha Kaandam and Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2 in the pipeline. However, the makers of both movies are yet to announce the release date.
