Vettaiyan Box Office Collection Day 5: Rajinikanth Starrer Witnesses A Major Drop, Mints ₹5.25 Crore
Vettaiyan Box Office Collection: Rajinikanth's cop drama has minted ₹110 crore in the first five days of release and is now eyeing to mint ₹120 crore.
Vettaiyan Box Office Collection: The Rajinikanth starrer has been performing well at the box office in India. The movie opened at ₹31.7 crore in India but witnessed a 24.29 per cent dip in the collection. However, since then the movie has maintained a steady pace until it hit Monday. A slight dip was expected in the first week of the day, but to everyone's surprise, there was a major drop in the collection.

The action thriller earned ₹5.25 crore on the fifth day of the release, per Sacnilk. Adding the five-day collection, the total stands at ₹110 crore. Vettaiyan had an overall 22.58 per cent Tamil occupancy on Monday with the maximum reported in Puducherry (35.75 per cent). Now, the movie is eyeing ₹120 crore and if it is able to earn over ₹120 then Vettaiyan will surpass Kamal Haasan starrer Indian 2's worldwide record.
Vettaiyan vs GOAT box office first weekend
The GOAT, starring Thalapathy Vijay, released in September earlier this year. It opened to a much bigger number and showed strong legs in the coming days. The sci-fi actioner minted ₹52 crore on day 1, ₹30 crore on day 2, ₹39.25 crore on day 3 and ₹39.75 crore on day 4. The extended first-weekend collection stood at ₹160.9 crore. Worldwide, the numbers stood at an impressive ₹221+ crore. The GOAT lifetime collection is ₹451.23 crore.
Helmed by TJ Gnanavel and produced by Subaskaran's Lyca Productions, the star-studded film also ensemble included Rana Daggubati, Fahadh Faasil, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, and Abhirami. The story revolves around a ruthless criminal activity that is met with force by a maverick police officer with a disregard for the rules as he confronts an outbreak of lawlessness.
