Vettaiyan Advance Booking Report: Rajinikanth's multi-starrer is all set to hit the big screens on October 10, ahead of Dussehra. The film is tracking to open well in Tamil and Telugu and given the star-studded cast, it might do well in Malayalam and Hindi. As the film's release coincides with the festive fervour, its collections are bound to be good. If the word-of-mouth is positive, it might match up to the collection of GOAT, starring Thalapathy Vijay, which is the highest-grossing Tamil film this year so far.

Vettaiyan advance booking progressing at a rapid pace

Vettaiyan stars Rajinikanth as a cop who is infamous for extrajudicial killings. The movie is directed by TJ Gnanavel of Jai Bhim fame. The combo of Rajinikanth and Gnanavel has already stoked anticipation for the film and the same is reflected in the advance bookings. The Tamil version is leading by a huge margin, followed by Telugu.

According to Sacnilk, the Tamil version of Vettaiyan has sold 3.1 lakh tickets so far, collecting ₹6.37 crore. Additionally, a little over 19,000 tickets have been sold for the Telugu version and 9300 for Hindi. In total, the film has minted ₹6.64 crore for its first day so far in advance ticket sales with 3,36,115 receipts sold in India.

Vettiayan is Rajinikanth's first full-fledged solo release after the blockbuster Jailer. All eyes will be on how the new release compares with Jailer, which minted over ₹600 crore gross worldwide last year in August and gave the Superstar a bounce back from his box office slump.

Jailer minted a little over ₹18 crore in India in advance sales with 8.77 lakh tickets sold for its opening day. The film's day one collections were ₹56.6 crore at the domestic box office. Vettaiyan also stars Amitabh Bachchan , Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati and Manju Warrier.
