Vijay Sethupathi's son Surya is set to make his acting debut as a le actor with Phoenix. film marks directorial debut of rewned stunt choreographer Anl Arasu. Surya has been part of several films starring his far like Naanum Rowdy Dhaan and Sindhubh. However, y were all mir roles.

On vember 24, Surya Sethupathi took to his Instagram handle, anuncing his next film seemingly as a le. He also revealed first poster of Phoenix and shared photos posing with cast and crew. In caption, he wrote, "#Phoenix Pooja ".

During media interaction, when Surya was questioned about following his far's footsteps in acting, he replied, "I decided t come in my far's shows. So it was director who found me and offered role."

When asked about Vijay Sethupathi's reaction to his le debut, to this, Surya said that his parents were happy. He ds, "Appa vera na vera (He is different, I am different). That's why makers have put 'Introducing Surya' and t 'Introducing Surya Vijay Sethupathi'. Both Appa and amma were happy about me acting as a hero."
