Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Leo has reportedly collected ₹615.5cr worldwide. With this incredible accomplishment, Leo became the second Thalapathy Vijay film to take the top spot on the list of highest-grossing movies. His first instance was in 2004 with the film Ghilli.
Jailer
A close second is Rajinikanth starrer Jailer. The film is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and features Vinayakan, Ramya Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi, Tamannaah Bhatia in major roles apart from Thalaivar. It reportedly earned ₹600 crore at the worldwide box office.

Ponniyin Selvan: II
Ponniyin Selvan: II (PS-2) is another notable addition to the list of the highest-grossing Tamil films of 2023. Mani Ratnam is the director of this grand historical action drama and it is the sequel to the 2022 film Ponniyin Selvan: I. The worldwide box office collection of the film stands at ₹ 343.5 crore.
Varisu
Varisu, directed by Vamshi Paidipally, features Thalapathy Vijay, R. Sarathkumar, Srikanth, Shaam, Prabhu, Prakash Raj and Rashmika Mandanna in major roles. The film earned ₹343.5 crore globally.

H. Vinoth's Thunivu, which he wrote and directed, features Ajith Kumar as the main protagonist. The supporting cast of the film includes Manju Warrier, Samuthirakani, John Kokken, Ajay, and Veera. Thunivu amassed ₹196.6cr worldwide.
Vaathi
Dhanush starrer Vaathi revolves around the life of a young man and his struggles against the privatisation of education. The film earned ₹107 crore at the global box office.
