Taylor Swift and her journey in the field of performance arts

Taylor Swift is an internationally acclaimed country singer. She has sung some of the best-selling songs of all time. Many of her songs have also topped music charts worldwide upon their release. Though Taylor is well-loved for her music, she has worked in several other artistic projects including acting.

Taylor Swift's beginnings and journey to becoming a singer

Taylor was born on December 13, 1989, to Scott Kingsley Swift and Andrea Gardner Swift. Swift was interested in drama and singing from a young age and soon decided to pursue a career in music. When she was 11 years old she visited the Nashville record labels with her mother to submit a demo tape of her singing. However, she was rejected. In an interview, Taylor explained the reason for her rejection. She said that everyone there wanted to do what she was doing, so she had to find a way to be different from the crowd. 

After that, Taylor learned how to play the guitar and further continued to strive for a career as a singer. After performing her original songs at RCA Records she got an artist development deal and made frequent trips to Nashville. At a showcase at Nashville's Bluebird Cafe in 2005, Swift caught the attention of Scott Borchetta. Scott was a DreamWorks Records executive who was preparing to form his record label, Big Machine Records. That led to the development of her debut album Taylor Swift, which was released on October 24, 2006. The label was a hit and was number five on the Billboard 200 music chart.

After the release of the album Taylor Swift, Taylor became one of the most popular singers of the United States and she continues to be a hugely popular celebrity worldwide. After the release of her second album Fearless, Taylor decided to try out acting. She made her debut in cinema with the romantic comedy Valentine's Day. She also appeared on TV in 2009 on the show CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. 

Taylor Swift based several of her early songs on her personal life. She has also won several awards for her singing career. She currently has seven albums to her name, all of which have been commercially successful. She still holds the record for the most views in 24 hours for a female artist on YouTube, for her song ME!
