Creative Arts Emmys 2019: Game of Thrones dominates, bags 10 awards
'Game of Thrones' dominated at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards this year taking home 10 trophies. Chernobyl, Free Solo, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel also won awards.

The 71st edition of the Emmy Awards kicked off with a two-night event starting with the Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony at the Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles. The Award ceremony which celebrates the achievements of the brightest from the world of television handed out a cascade of Emmys in technical and acting categories.
'Game of Thrones' dominated the event taking home 10 trophies. 'Leaving Neverland,' Netflix's 'Queer Eye,' RuPaul's 'Drag Race' and National Geographic's 'Free Solo' were also among the winners of the 2019 Creative Arts Emmys.

The event took place over the weekend honored several categories including guest actors and actresses, a week before the 2019 Primetime Emmys. Some of the winners who took an Emmy in the creative field include 'The Simpsons,' which won Outstanding Animated Program, and Seth MacFarlane for 'Family Guy,' in Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance. Rachel Bloom shared an award for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for 'Crazy Ex-Girlfriend'.
