Dheeraj Dhoopar received immense love and gratitude for his stint in Kundali Bhagya. His fan base only expanded after he appeared in the show Saubhagyavati Bhava as Karan Luthra. Even after proving his mettle in acting Dheeraj has to deal with the label of “television actor”.
While some find the tag amusing, others find it offensive. Even though television is his first love, the actor expressed his discomfort with the label in his recent interview.
Dheeraj Dhoopar on being labeled as a ‘television actor’
In a conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Dheeraj believes a medium cannot define an actor. He said, “I always had a problem with me being called a TV actor. Why? A medium cannot define an actor. I’m just an actor who wants to be part of all the mediums simultaneously. I want to do films I want to do OTT, I want to do music albums, I want to do TV everything. I’m not demeaning anything. TV is always been my first love and will always be my first love and I always wanted to switch over to a different medium.“
“Not just for the sake of it, I wanted to switch over and I wanted to do as good as what I was doing on TV. I think that took a little longer for me but yes, there is when people were considering me for certain kind of characters but when they thought ‘Okay, I’ve been too exposed to the audience being a TV actor’. Then I felt bad, I mean being exposed I think is a good thing people know you,” added the Kundali Bhagya star.
