‘Friends’ pop-up lets sitcom’s fans explore show’s key props

Freinds fans who snagged tickets to New York City Pop-Up can w revisit and experience some of beloved and most quotable moments. y can w plop down on orange couch at Central Perk and play foosball in Chandler and Joey's apartment. show is going to celebrate its 25th anniversary later this month with an experimental pop-up which will be called ' One with Pop-Up' horing typical episode names created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman.

Visitors will be able to walk through different sections in 8,500 square feet loft where more than 50 original props will be displayed. n-descriptive downtown building in a trendy Manhattan neighborhood will feature complete set recreations, various photo ops, and iconic Central Perk. set also includes replicas of Joey and Chandler's living room and Central Perk's counter and lounging area. Fan's will also get to see original costumes like Monica's chef uniform, Phoebe's suede jacket, and Ross' famous lear pants. Fans will also be able to take photos in classic turkey head. re are several opportunities where fans can insert mselves into familiar scenes for selfies and posed photos.
Pop-Up which is an experimental project initiated by Superfly, in partnership with Warner Bros., which produced show from 1994-2004. Pop-Up opened on September 07 and will run until October 06. tickets went on sale on August 02 but were sold out immediately. James Michael Tyler, who played Gunr was at a press preview for Pop-Up says he was amazed at detail.

“It’s really surreal… this particular pop up is far more elaborate than ones that we’ve had in past. This is literally like a ‘Friends’ museum. It’s amazing how many props and little things that just bring back memories to me.”
Maggie Wheeler, who played role of Janice says, “It’s very rare to be able to kind of walk into a set, a place that lives in your memory, that you have all of se associations with, and sit here and touch this couch and look at this table and feel yourself living in environment where all of se characters lived,” she said. “So I think people are going to really flip out and I think y’re going to have so much fun I think it’s going to be hard to get people to leave.”
