Indian Idol 11: War of Duos special; singers from different regions

Indian Idol 11, following the theme Ek Desh Ek Awaj, welcomed regional singers to perform with the contestants. Singers from the North to the South performed.

The race has begun among 15 contestants in India's one of the most popular singing reality shows Indian Idol season 11. Following the theme of this year, Ek Desh Ek Awaz, all the contestants performed in War of Duos special episode with 15 critically acclaimed singers across India. The voting lines are now open. Here are the highlights of the weekend episodes.

November 9 - War of Duos - First Episode 

The contestant Jannabi Das opened the episode with western vocalist Suzzen D'Mellow. The duo performed a Konkani song. Whereas Adriz performed a Bengali number with singer Gautam Das and stole the limelight. Later, Rohit's performance with Bollywood singer Benny Dayal received a standing ovation from judges and contestants, and the crowd started screaming once more. Judge Vishal Dadlani and guest singer Benny performed their latest song from War titled, Jai Jai Shiv Shankar. Stuti Tiwari's performance with singer Bela Shinde on a Marathi song was enjoyed by the judges. Judge Anu Malik started dancing on his seat. Her partner Bela was also praised on the stage. On Neha's request, Bela also performed her popular Marathi song Apsara. Contestant Azmat Hussain performed with popular Rajasthani singer Mame Khan. The performance, too, earned a standing ovation. Contestant Sunny and Punjabi singer Navraj Hans impressed Anu Malik, and he took his chair and made Sunny stand on it. He re-named him Sunny Hindustani. Contestant Subhadeep Das Chaudhary performed with critically acclaimed singer Rahul Deshpande. Neha praised the contestant and took blessings from singer Rahul on the stage. Wrapping-up the first episode of War of Duos, special host Aditya Narayan performed with Pallav Singh as a guest singer. Neha also performed a regional UP song appreciating their performance.

November 10 - War of Duos - Second Episode 

Opening the second episode of War of Duos, special contestant Shahzaan Mujeeb performed Shahid Mallya's original Ik Kuddi with him. Judge Neha also shook a leg on her popular song Dilbar with host Aditya. Contestant Chetna Bhardwaj's performance with singer Bhumi Trivedi was enjoyed by the judges and the audience. After teasing judge Vishal and contestant Chelsi Behura's mother, singer Swati Sharma vocalised Banno Tera Swagger with Chelsi. Contestant Kaivalya Kejkar performed with the father-son duo, singers Karsan and Keerthi Sargathiya.  The additional performance by the duo made everyone come on stage and dance on Gujarati folk Rangalo. After lighting up the screen, host Aditya welcomed singer Jyotica Tangri to perform with contestant Ridham Kalyan. Neha joined the stage in the middle of the performance. The weekend episode wrapped up with contestant Rishabh Chaturvedi's performance with music composer Tochi Raina.
