Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth unveiled the statue of late Tamil filmmaker K Balachander at the Raaj Kamal Films International office. At the unveiling event, Kamal Haasan and Rajnikanth both spoke about the legacy of K Balachander. Read on to know more about this reunion of two movie megastars.

Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth unveiled the statue of ace filmmaker and Dada Saheb Phalke Award winner K Balachander. Kamal Haasan considered K Balachander as his mentor from the industry. The event was attended by several prominent personalities from the industry. Mani Ratnam, lyricist Vairamuthu, actor Nasser, KS Ravikumar, Santhana Bharathi, families of K. Balachander.

Kamal Haasan even spoke at the unveiling event in the presence of the guests from the film industry and family members of K Balachander. Kamal Haasan in his speech stated that K Balachander had donated talent to Tamil Cinema and contributed to the launch of many people in the industry. He also said that there is no other director equal to him. Since the event brought two megastars from the industry together Haasan also spoke about Rajinikanth and said that we both are both fans of each other’s work.

Rajinikanth also spoke at the event about the legacy of K Balachander and also talked about fellow actor Kamal Haasan. While speaking about K Balachander he shared with people present at the event that K Balachander told him to learn Tamil. Rajinikanth further added that K Balachander assured him of taking him to new heights in his acting career. He also appreciated the fact that K Balachander knew what Tamil people would like to see on screen. He then went on to comment about Kamal Hasaan. He said that even though K Balachander promised him a good future as an actor his favourite child was always Kamal. He also said that Anathu Sir K Balachander’s writer and Kamal would keep talking for hours and Anathu Sir was also the one who moulded Kamal.
