Nia Sharma Issues Clarification On Bigg Boss 18 Controversy: People Told Me So Many Harsh Words...

Nia Sharma, popular for TV shows such as Ishq Mein Marjawan, Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai and Jamai Raja, was rumoured to be participating in Bigg Boss 18. The speculations were further strengthened when Rohit Shetty confirmed on the finale of Khatron Ke Khiladi that the actress will soon be seen in another reality show. However, the actress has seemingly shut down all rumours and spoke about being trolled about not participating in the show. 

Nia Sharma clarifies why she is not part of Bigg Boss 18

In an interaction with Pinkvilla, Nia Sharma cleared the air about what exactly happened and why she is not part of Bigg Boss 18. She said, “It was Colors. I was told at the very last minute. I was supposed to go for Laughter Chefs integration, but a few days after the announcement, Laughter Chefs got cancelled. So eventually, when I was supposed to go, and I wasn't supposed to go, the whole thing was to create a buzz, and I think they succeeded very well."

She added, "If it was when planning or anything like that, it's okay to play along. I could not write the next day. People told me so many harsh words even though I apologized humbly. I was not supposed to put up a note. All that was done by the Colors team. It was their strategy, and it was up to them. I am working for them, and if they are doing something in my name, it's completely alright”. She concluded by saying, “I thought I owe them an apology that thank you for the love, but I'm not going. I took it in my stride because it was fun, it was beautiful hype and a review that I saw myself after a very long time. Other than that, it's all about my clothes, it's how I dress up, how naked I am all the time about my cleavage. It's time we moved on from there, and I think after Laughter Chefs quite a lot has changed.”

Nia Sharma was born and brought up in Delhi. Reportedly, she studied journalism and mass communication before moving to Mumbai to pursue her dreams. The actress made her screen debut in 2010 with Kaali - Ek Agnipariksha, appearing as Anu. She then played Nisha Mehta in the multi-starrer Behenein. Her magnetic presence was noticed by casting directors and creatives.

Nia got her big break when she signed to play the parallel lead in Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai. The show ran for 2 years (2011 to 2013) and made Nia a household name.
