Rupali Ganguly Controversy: Anupamaa actress has been embroiled in a controversy after her stepdaughter Esha Verma accused her of bullying her and feeling unsafe around actress. She h posted several videos in which she recounted time she was with Rupali. actress didn't penned down any reply and simply filed a defamation case against a 26-year-old stepdaughter, seeking compensation of ₹50 crore.

Now, Payal Rohatgi has slammed actress for demanding such a hefty amount from a young girl. She also called whole situation "karma"  claiming Rupali fell in love with Ashwin Verma when he was married and h two daughters.

Suryaputra Karn actress took to her Instagram Stories and shared a screengrab of a news article that res, "Rupali Ganguly seeks ₹50 crore compensation from stepdaughter for defaming her." Alongside article, she penned a note referring to ongoing controversy as "karma" for Rupali as she did marry a guy who was married. "Whatever your truth Rupali but you did marry a guy who was married when u met him. It's called karma when u do what u do to earlier wife. daughter of earlier wife will have her narrative (sic)," she wrote.

She went on to say, "Rest figure it out in courts with your proof. But why did u ask for so much money as defamation? Are u broke? Do u all even understand what is 50 crores working in serials? (sic)".

About Rupali Ganguly's defamation case against Esha Verma

legal notice was in response to Esha's 'false and damaging statements' and step was taken to protect her reputation. notice was sent by Ganguly's lawyer, Sana Raees Khan. In notice, it has been mentioned that Rupali Ganguly underwent mental trauma because of which she h to seek medical assistance and that she was humiliated on set and lost professional opportunities. It is also said that Ganguly wanted to maintain a 'dignified silence' but was compelled to initiate defamation notice because of how she and Ashwin Verma's 11-year-old son were dragged.

Ganguly, through her lawyer, has claimed compensation of ₹50 crore, which her stepdaughter is liable to pay. She has also asked for an unconditional public apology immediately, failing which Ganguly has threatened legal measures.

In notice, it was clarified that Rupali Ganguly was friends with Ashwin Verma for 12 years, before he separated from his second wife, Esha Verma's mor, in 2009. It was also said that Ganguly, along with Verma, tried to help Esha get a break into entertainment industry, by providing opportunities for photoshoots and making special arrangements for auditions.
