Star Singer Season 9 Winner: Aravind Lifts Trophy, Takes Home ₹50 Lakh Cash Prize
The ninth season of Star Singer concluded on October 20. Araind emerged as the winner of the singing reality show, while Disha finished as runner-up.
Star Singer season 9 concluded on October 20. After three months, the reality show's grand finale concluded with Aravind emerging as the winner and Disha as the runner-up. Vidya Balan arrived as a guest on the set of the show for the Grand Finale.
Aravind emerge as Star Singer season 9 winner
Aravind took home the Star Singer trophy this year. The grand finale took place on Sunday evening at the Atlas Convention Center in Angamaly, Ernakulam. The night was filled with music and dance performances. Actress Vidya Balan also attended the grand finale as a special guest ahead of the release of her film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
For the final performance, the contestants were required not only to put their best foot forward through their vocals but also perform under pressure. The finale was held in two rounds and Aravind ended up with top scores in both. Judging the finale were industry stalwarts K. S. Chithra, Sujatha, Sithara Krishnakumar, and Vidhu Prathap, with the legendary Hariharan serving as the chief judge.
Who were the runner-ups among Star Singer Season 9 finalists?
The grand finale of Star Singer season 9 saw five finalists. Disha, Nanda, Aravind, Balram and Anusree were the top 5. Nanda ended up third while Disha secured the runner-up position. The winner Aravind went home with a cash prize of Rs 50 Lakh while the four other finalists ended up with Rs 2 Lakhs each.
The Star Singer season 9 premiered on July 22. The show began with 16 contestants with one participant getting eliminated each week. Oscar award winner MM Keeravani inaugurated the season. The Malayalam singing show was hosted by RJ Varsha.
