Taapsee Pannu says sex comedies aren't her 'cup of tea', find out why

In a recent interview with a newspaper daily, actor Taapsee Pannu said that she will never be a part of any sex comedies. She also talked about her glamorous roles and also about her unconventional roles. In this candid interview, the actor talked about the kind of movies she has done and what the future holds for her.

Taapsee Pannu, in the interview, declared her disinterest and disapproval of sex comedies in Bollywood. The actor shared that whatever movies she has seen so far, she hasn't found any of them funny. She further added that she will never be a part of one as they tend to show the role of women in a particular light. She said that all the jokes made on women, the sexual innuendos, and the double meanings used for entertainment are not her cup of tea.

When a part of southern cinema, Pannu has played many roles that were all about glamour. In Bollywood, her only glamorous role was in the 2017 movie Judwaa 2. In the interview, she revealed that she was once approached to feature in a dance number for a Hindi movie, but she turned it down. She said that she is open to doing a dance number only in movies in which she is the heroine. She talked about how she will do such a song only if there will be a strong reason to do it, and not just for glamour.

Taapsee Pannu talked about the roles that she has been expected to do because of her choices of movies so far. She said that people might not like her doing conventional roles. She might also get bored with them. She aspires to create a niche with her audience, where they can trust her blindly. She revealed that something similar to Judwaa 2 can be expected of her in the future. She talked about the difficulty that she faced as she had to get a size zero body and stand with Varun Dhawan and Jacqueline Fernandez. She said that people might think it to be easy, but it wasn't.

Taapsee was also asked her criteria for selecting a movie. She said that when a film is offered to her, she always wonders if she would spend her hard-earned money or three hours watching this particular film. If the answer is no, she does not sign it.

Taapsee's latest flick was Saand Ki Aankh, where she played the role of Prakashi Tomar, an 82-year-old sharpshooter. She is currently under talks with Anubhav Sinha's movie Thappad. She will also be a part of Rashmi Rocket, directed by Akarsh Khurana.
