Hounded by MNS, 'Taarak Mehta' issues on-air apology if they hurt anyone's sentiments

Popular sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC) received an open threat by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS). During an episode of comedy serial, it was reported that langu of Mumbai is Hindi. And w, in Tuesday night's episode, Shailesh Lodha who plays role of Taarak Mehta in show issued an apology on-air in case he hurt anyone's sentiments. Substantiating reason why Champak Chacha (Amit Bhatt) called Hindi as langu of Mumbai in an episode, he said, "We just wanted to portray that Mumbai as a city has accepted several or cultures with open arms". Cast issues apology
After langu comment, MNS h demanded an apology. Furr, MNS Chitrapat Sena president Amey Khopkar told Republic TV, “Since yesterday a video is going viral on social media. I want to ask writer, Niren Bhatt, you kw langu of Chennai, but t langu of Maharashtra?”. “We have written a letter to makers, producers, and writers and if y do t apologise to Marathi population, we will t let m work in Mumbai,” he continued.

actor in scene (Amit Bhatt) said “See, our Gokuldham is in Mumbai, what is Mumbai’s langu? Hindi. That is why we will write thought for day in Hindi.” He n ded, “If our Gokuldam would’ve been in Chennai, we’d have written it in Tamil, and if our Gokuldam would’ve been in America and Europe, we’d have written in English,”. dialogue did t sit well with several and gained mixed responses from social media.
Furr, Sena workers landed up at house of actor in question and asked him to apologise over dialogue. actor plays character of protagonist Jethalal’s far in TV episode. Maharashtra Navnirman Film wing’s Chief Ameya Khopkar also accused makers of spreing ‘propaganda’ though dialogue and how Maharashtrian artists working on show might have felt it as an ‘insult’. He even threatened to teach m a lesson.
