The Crown is a series that revolves around the political rivalries and romance that existed during Queen Elizabeth II's reign and the events that shaped the second half of the twentieth century. The latest season of the series is about to release and here are the details of the upcoming show.
The plot of season 3
The last two series centred upon Queen Elizabeth II’s reign in the early years from 1947-1963. The series finished with episodes dedicated to the infamous Profumo affair. However, the third season will cover the decade after the 1963 scandal, touching upon the decolonisation of Africa and the Caribbean to Apollo 11’s moon landing in 1969, Labour Party’s Harold Wilson becoming the Prime Minister and the 1966 Aberfan disaster in Wales that took 144 lives.

The show will also throw light on the troubled marriage of Princess Margaret and photographer Lord Snowdon. The grown-up versions of the Queen’s eldest children, Charles – who was crowned the Prince of Wales in 1969 – and Anne. Charles’ romance with Camilla will an essential part of the plot.

The third season of The Crown has new cast members different from all the previous two series.

- Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret.

- Newcomer Emma Corrin will be seen as the young Diana, Princess of Wales, in Season 4 of The Crown, with Gillian Anderson starring as Margaret Thatcher.

Season 3: Trailer
The trailer of The Crown Season 3 was released in October 21st. Despite being a glorious one, the three-minute clip is dark in nature. It shows Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II facing the decline of Britain in 1977 the year of her Silver Jubilee. The trailer shows other characters and portrayal of human emotions to sustain power, protect the family and make sacrifices in the name of duty.

It has been officially announced by Netflix that the third season of The Crown will release on 17th November 2019. As told to a leading media portal, Peter Morgan the creator of the series has plans of releasing five additional seasons of The Crown, all of which will be written by him.
