Coronavirus crisis: JD Majethia confirms TV broadcasters will scrap 95-day payment cycle
Recently, the chairman of the Indian Film and TV Producers Council, JD Majethia, opened up about the new payment structure that will scrap 95-day payment cycle.

Recently, producer and chairman of Indian Film and TV Producers Council, JD Majethia, confirmed that brocasters have to waive off deferred 95-day payment system. In his conversation with a leing news portal, JD Majethia explained that this change will help makers to pay actors and technicians, who were struggling to make ends meet after Coronavirus-induced lockdown kept shoot on a halt. In dition, producer Asit Kumar Modi, among many ors agreed with decision of IFTPC.

Details of new payment cycle
Interestingly, w, first installment of funds for 15 episodes will be released after 30 days of telecast, next within 45 days, and following after 6- days to maintain consistent cash flow. new system will ease pressure on show makers, said JD Majethia.

Majethia also ded that a few of brocasters have agreed to follow new structure for three months while ors have promised to give it six months.

Meanwhile, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma producer Asit Kumar Modi asserted that his cast and crew are like family, and money was never an issue for his team. He furr ded that team has discussed matter with brocasters and will follow guidelines. On or side, executive producer of Mere Sai was also quoted saying that new system will help to keep spirit high on set.

According to report, Humsa Dhir, He of Corporate Communications at Sony Pictures Network also opened up about new payment structure. Humsa Dhir ded that nature of pandemic is such that one can predict its duration. And amid this, as a responsible brocaster, y will do everything in ir capacity to ensure safety of ir cast, crew and production partners. Whereas or brocasters, including Star Plus, Colors, and Zee, among many ors, have t said anything as yet.
