Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier both lost their last fights against the current lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. However, after UFC 243, both Conor and Dustin are in the news for their upcoming fight. Dan Hooker defeated Al Iaquinta in the co-main event of UFC 243 and called out Dustin Poirier for a fight but Dustin’s response has left everyone stunned. The Interim lightweight is looking for a rematch and his opponent is none other than Conor ‘The Notorious’ McGregor.

After a unanimous victory against Al I Iaquinta, Dan Hooker said that he is interested to fight Dustin Poirier and Dustin should stop chasing leprechauns for his fight. Dustin Poirier showed no interest to Dan Hooker and tweeted that he will be fighting the Irishman (Conor McGregor) next. Dustin and Conor has never fought in the lightweight division and a clash between them at 155 will be entertaining for the UFC fans. However, Dan Hooker continued calling out Dustin Poirier on Twitter but Dustin suggested Donald Cerrone as the perfect opponent for Dan Hooker and kept his eyes on Conor McGregor fixed. The twitter battle continued but Dustin was only interested in Conor McGregor. UFC President Dana White confirmed Conor McGregor's return and it seems that they have found the perfect rival.

Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier fought against each other in the featherweight division at UFC 178. Conor knocked out Dustin in the first round and it seems that the re-match is finally happening at a different division. Dustin has been great at lightweight and went on to become the interim champion but Conor McGregor has been out of the UFC for a while with no title defences till date. The winner of the fight might get a title shot and a chance to get inside the octagon with Khabib Nurmagomedov, once again.
