What to watch online: A list of top must-watch underrated series

The internet has many platforms which have half the country hooked to their varied and intriguing shows. The list of some popular online giants includes Amazon Prime, Netflix, Hulu, among others. Today, all these platforms have multiple shows launched every month. Here are a few underrated series that are a must-watch.

Here are a few series one must add to their watchlist 

Atypical (Netflix)

Atypical is the story of an 18-year-old autistic boy who is on a journey to find love. Directed by Robia Rashid, the series aired its first season in 2017. The comedy has popular actor Jennifer Jason Leigh playing the role of a mother, and Keir Gilchrist, who plays the central character in the Netflix original series. 

Homecoming (Amazon Prime)

Homecoming is an Amazon Prime original series starring Julia Roberts and Stephan James in the lead. Directed by Sam Esmail, the show is based on a podcast of a social worker. The thriller dabbles with the intricacies of memory and plays with the wit of the audience. 

The Boys (Amazon Prime)

This Amazon Prime original series started airing in 2019. The series stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, among others in pivotal roles. The satire concocts a virtual world, where superheroes are owned by International corporations. The huge corporations aggressively market and monetise these superheroes. The wacky tale of how superheroes misuse their superpowers is a fun tale to watch.

Kaafir (Zee 5)

Starring Dia Mirza and Mohit Raina in the lead, the show narrates the tale of a Pakistani woman who is alleged to be a militant. The Zee 5 original series was recently launched on the platform. Directed by Sonam Nair, the series is written by Bhavani Iyer, who had previously written the script of Raazi.

Akoori (Zee 5)

The story, that of a dysfunctional family set in the coast of Goa, is a hilarious drama airing on Zee 5. The series starring Darshan Jariwala, Lillete Dubey and Zoa Morani in the lead is directed by Nikhil Venugopalan. The Zee 5 original series was one of the first shows to be streamed on the platform.
