Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi‘s biographical drama Amaran was released in atres on October 31, on occasion of  Diwali and has received glowing reviews from audience. film is based on real-life story of Major Mukund Vararajan and his wife, Indhu Rebecca Varghese, offering a glimpse into Ashok Chakra awardee’s personal life. Recently, it has drawn comparisons to Bollywood hit Shershaah due to similarities in storyline, sparking furr interest.

Sivakarthikeyan reacts to comparisons between Amaran and Shershaah

A couple of years back, director Vishnuvarhan explored a similar me in Shershaah, which portrayed story of Col. Vikram Batra, with Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara vani in le roles. As Amaran gained popularity across India, many noticed strong romantic elements in both films, leing to frequent comparisons. During a promotional event in Mumbai covered by Pinkvilla, Sivakarthikeyan, who plays Major Mukund in Amaran, dressed this, saying, “Shershaah is a good film, but I don’t like comparisons.”

He furr explained thought behind making of Amaran, stating, “This isn’t about proving one film is better or that both are same. Amaran was created to honour what Mukund and Indhu contributed to this country. Our primary goal was to portray that innocent, sincere, and soulful love. It’s this love that has resonated with audience.”

Sivakarthikeyan says Amaran is a story about love

actor shared that Rajkumar’s research and perspective significantly influenced making of Amaran. “His writing was genuine; Amaran wasn’t created to compete with any Western or Indian films about army,” said Sivakarthikeyan.

Despite tough competition, Amaran found a place in fans' hearts. According to Sacnilk.com, even with fewer screens, it earned a net total of Rs 187 crore worldwide in its first eight days.
