Delay In Allu Arjun Starrer Pushpa 2 Release Invites Netizens Fury, Fans Threaten To Move To Court

Allu Arjun-Rashmika Mandanna starrer Pushpa 2 was scheduled to release in theatres nationwide on Independence Day. However, on June 17, the makers of the movie revealed that the film will now arrive on December 6. This did not sit well with social media users who were waiting in anticipation to see the actors reprise their characters in the sequel to the blockbuster 2021 movie. 

Social media users express angst on Pushpa 2 delay 

As soon as the Pushpa 2 makers announced the news of the delay, several social media users took to their accounts to share their displeasure on the same. As per reports, one user wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “The movie was releasing in June 2024. Why this has been shifted to Dec 2024? Is this a joke to the filmmakers? Playing with the emotions of the audience. On behalf of Puspha Community i will file a case in Court to release it ASAP.” 

Another user expressed their disappointment and wrote, “We waited so long for #Pushpa2, and now this! Unacceptable. Do you know what this means for us? We were counting days. Please reconsider.” A user commented on Allu Arjun’s announcement of the delay and wrote, “Mai to 15 August ke liye Exited tha sir aapne to shock de diya.”

Why was Pushpa 2 postponed? 

Pushpa 2 makers took to their social media handles to share a detailed statement explaining the reason behind the delay. They also dropped a few posters featuring Allu Arjun and the new release date. Now, Pushpa 2 will be released on December 6. Pushpa 2 makers shared a detailed statement revealing the nature of the shoot. They stated, "Pushpa 2 the rule is one of the most anticipated Indian films. Following the immense success of Pushpa: The rise, our responsibility to deliver excellence has increased significantly. We have been tirelessly working to complete the movie and release it on time. However, due to the remaining shoot and subsequent post-production work, we will not be releasing the film on August 15th, 2024."

"This decision is made in the best interest of the film, the Audience and all stakeholders. Our goal is to provide a memorable experience on the big screen without compromising quality, the overwhelming response to our teaser and songs across all languages has been heartening, and we promise to deliver a film that you will truly love," the statement further read. "We extend our heartfelt thanks to the audiences and our partners worldwide for their unwavering support. The media and film industries have also been incredibly supportive. Pushpa 2 the rule will now be released worldwide on December 6th, 2024. We are committed to giving you the best, and you will see only the best in cinemas," the statement concluded.
