Devara Star Jr NTR Expresses A Desire To Feature In A 'Straight Tamil Film' Directed By Vetrimaaran

During the Devara: Part 1 promotional event, Jr NTR expressed his wish to do an out-and-out Tamil Film with his 'favourite' director Vetrimaaran.

Jr NTR is gearing up for the release of his upcoming movie Devara: Part 1 which is scheduled to hit the big screens on September 27. The film is directed by Koratala Siva and set against a coastal backdrop with a saga spanning multiple timelines. Recently, the Devara team, including lead actors Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor , visited Chennai to promote the film. During the event, the RRR fame shared his desire to work on a Tamil film with director Vetrimaaran.

I am going to ask my favourite director: Jr NTR manifests his next Tamil film

On September 17, Team Devara was in Chennai for their film promotion, concluding with a pre-release event. During the event, Jr NTR discussed the blurring of boundaries between India’s various film industries. He said, “Yes, we are divided by language, but after Baahubali, we are not divided by cinema anymore.”  Before the audience's applause faded, Jr NTR was asked if he would star in a direct Tamil film. He openly manifested his wish to do one soon and even mentioned the director he wanted to collaborate with.

Jr NTR said, "I am going to ask my favourite director, Vetri Maaran sir, to let us please do one straight Tamil film and we can dub it in Telugu." The crowd erupted in joy at the actor's statement. A collaboration between Vetrimaaran and Jr NTR would certainly be a treat for fans. Five-time National Film Award winner Vetrimaaran is known for his unique filmography and is currently working on Viduthalai- Part 2 which is scheduled to hit theatres in December. 

Jr NTR reveals how a shark scene was filmed in Devara

Jr NTR will play a dual role in Devara: Part 1, which will release on September 27. The trailer was launched a few days back and received mixed reactions, particularly regarding the shark scene.

Recently, he shared his experience filming a shark scene, saying, "I hated shooting for it. It was one of the sequences that took a lot of time. I spent almost an entire day in a five-and-a-half-foot tank just to get the scene right." It will be intriguing to see how the water sequences have turned out in the film. The film also features Saif Ali Khan in the role of an antagonist.
