Devara Vs Kalki 2898 AD Hindi Collection: Jr NTR's Film Pales In Comparison With Prabhas Starrer

Devara Vs Kalki 2898 AD Hindi Box Office: Jr NTR, Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor starrer Devara is probably the only pan-India film which was expected to give competition to Prabhas starrer Kalki 2898 AD. The comparison also makes sense given both Jr NTR and Prabhas were launched into nationwide stardom by SS Rajamouli, who made RRR and Baahubali respectively with the actors. However, the box office collection of Devara is not even a patch on Prabhas' Kalki 2898 AD, especially for the Hindi version.

Devara Hindi box office collection: A breakup of nine days

Devara Part 1 witnessed a decent start in Hindi, collecting ₹7.5 crore on its opening day. The film's business hit a high on first Sunday when it collected a little over ₹10 crore. However, in the second weekend, the film's numbers in the Hindi version are quite low and in the range of ₹2-3 crore for both Friday and Saturday. According to a report in Box Office India, Devara Hindi collection is not expected to top ₹60 crore nett, making it an average grosser in the North markets.

Meanwhile, the overall India business of the film in nine days stands at ₹230.35 crore, with a majority of collection coming in from Telugu states. Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada versions have not been able to collect over ₹1 crore on any particular day since the opening weekend.

Kalki 2898 AD Hindi box office collection: A lowdown

Earlier this year, Kalki 2898 AD witnessed a different fate at the box office. The film opened to ₹28.25 crore in Hindi and collected ₹192.25 crore in its extended first week. In nine days, the Prabhas , Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan starrer had comfortably crossed the ₹200 crore mark in North markets alone. 

During its run of over a month, Kalki 2898 AD minted ₹329.43 crore, which was way more than its Telugu collections of ₹277.7 crore.
