Reportedly, Kalki 2898 AD is the most expensive Indian film ever made, even more than Adipurush and RRR. However, according to some sources, Adipurush's budget was Rs 700 crore, so Kalki 2898 AD might come in second. The marketing expenses are included in Adipurush's final budget, though, and Nag Ashwin directorial might cross that mark when it comes out later this year.

In addition to breaking box office records in Telugu, the movie is predicted to perform well in Tamil and Hindi. This implies that, if everything goes according to plan, it could potentially surpass the Rs 1300 crore and Rs 1600 crore gross of RRR and Baahubali 2.

Industry insiders forecast that the movie will undoubtedly have one of the biggest openings in Indian cinema history, but everything else hinges on how well it does and how strong the word-of-mouth is. Although the release date for Kalki 2898 AD is still unknown, Nag Ashwin has disclosed that the trailer will be released on March 31, suggesting a summer release for the movie.
