Kalki 2898 AD Box Office Manipulated? Makers Of Prabhas' Film Take Legal Action Against Distributors

Prabhas starrer Kalki 2898 is one of biggest blockbusters of 2024 in India grossing over ₹1000 crore worldwide. movie became third highest-grossing film in domestic markets. However, it seems producers are not happy with US-Europe distributors. Vyjayanthi Movies has accused m of falsing box office collections and withholding payments.

Vyjayanthi Movies angry with US-Europe distributors over Kalki 2898 's overseas box office collection

An email from Vyjayanthi Movies to overseas distributors leaked on X, in which y are threatening legal action against m if y fail to set payments within 48 hours. Upon seeing it circulating on social media platforms, producers confirmed its aunticity and opened up about ongoing conflict.

According to Kalki 2898 producers, overseas trackers reported that film earned around ₹10.8 crore in Europe but claimed that film failed to meet expectations, asserting it me only ₹3 crore, lower than vance payment of ₹5 crore.

In US and Cana, distributors quoted different earnings and claimed of awaiting ₹3 crore from or regions. However, producers have learned that y are also withholding ₹2 crore.

Kalki 2898 producers issue statement

" US and Europe distributors are same; y have cheated producers. film me $1.3 million in region (Europe), according to trackers. y have given producers ₹5 crore vance and are now claiming it has not me even that and me only ₹3 crore. producers plan to proceed legally now because y’re left with no or choice. distributors haven’t even responded to mail and have leaked it inste. producers will wait for a response before proceeding with legal action.”
