Kanguva Box Office Collection Day 1: Suriya Starrer Fails To Beat GOAT, Indian 2; Opens At ₹22 Crore
Suriya starrer Kanguva manages to bag a spot in the top five Tamil debuts of the year after The Greatest Of All Time, Vettaiyan, Amaran and Indian 2.

Kanguva Box Office Collection Day 1: Suriya and Bubby Deol starrer garnered positive reviews from audience and critics, but failed to match hype at box office. movie was expected to surpass Thalapathuy Vijay's Greatest Of All Time (GOAT) but couldn't manage to even beat Kamal Haasan starrer Indian 2, which earned negative reviews from critics.
Kanguva misses hype train
Helmed by Siva, epic fantasy action drama managed to earn ₹22 crore at domestic box office, early estimates per Sacnilk. Tamil version of film minted ₹13.65 crore with Hindi and Telugu collectively ding ₹8.25 crore to opening day total. movie was hyped to top box office charts but failed to beat Indian 2's opening day collection by ₹3.6 crore. However, managed to become one of top five Tamil debuts of year behind GOAT, Vettaiyan, Amaran and Indian 2.

Kanguva h an overall 37.25% Tamil Occupancy on Thursday with maximum reported in Pondicherry (62.75 per cent).
Kanguva's leaked version likely to affect box office report
Suriya starrer has encountered privacy issues as movie has been leaked online in HD version. Moreover, several clips from movie are also going viral on Internet with some, including Karthi's cameo scene taken down.

What is budget of Kanguva?
movie was me on a budget of around ₹300–350 crore, making it one of most expensive Indian films ever me. It is reported that production house has spent around ₹22 crore in promotions and release in Hindi belts.
Apart from Suriya and Bobby, movie also starred Disha Patani, Karthi, Natarajan Subramaniam, K. S. Ravikumar, Yogi Babu and Redin Kingsley, in supporting roles.
