Prabhas-Prithviraj Sukumaran starrer Salaar 2 to release in 2024? Makers answer

Prabhas starrer Salaar has been unstoppable at the box office despite the clash with another highly-anticipated film Dunki. Owing to the film's success, reports of makers having decided to release the second part this year have been surfacing online. Now, the makers have issued a clarification regarding the release date and it seems it'll be a year-long wait for fans.
When will Salaar 2 release?
Rubbishing the reports, Vijay Kiragandur from Hombale Films shared that the film will release in 2025. Spilling the beans about the second part of the film, the producer said that The script of Salaar 2 is ready and they will start the film any time. "Prabhas wants to take it on floors as soon as possible and even Prashanth Neel wants to do it. We have been speaking about Salaar 2 and our discussion in the last 2 to 3 days was to make the film in the next 15 months. We will definitely release Salaar 2 in 2025, which is about 18 months from now,” said the Salaar producer.
He further promised an even bigger cinematic experience with Salaar 2 and said that Salaar 1 is just a glimpse of part two. He added, "You can treat it as a trailer and part two will be a lot bigger in terms of action and scale. Director Prashanth Neel introduced all the characters in the first part and now, Salaar 2 will be like Game of Thrones with a lot of drama, politics, and action. The cliffhanger you have seen now – there will be many more in the sequel.”
for those who don't know, the second part of Salaar will be the story of the impact of the political scenario in Khansaar due to best friends – Prabhas and Prithviraj - who will be turning biggest enemies of each other.

In just 12 days, Salaar has managed to earn a whopping amount of Rs 565 crore worldwide, with Rs 368.32 crore net at the domestic box office. Seeing the collection and overwhelming responses from audiences across the globe, Vijay said that they are more than satisfied with the numbers and reactions. He added, "there are some negatives but no one has complained regarding the making, scale, and drama. People got to see Prabhas as an angry young man for the first time in 20 years."
Revealing Prabhas' reaction to the collection, he said, "Prabhas is also in complete celebration mode and is asking about the schedule of part two. He is very happy with the film and wants to start Salaar 2 soon.”
Apart from Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran, the first part also stars Shruti Haasan and Jagapathi Babu. It hit the theatres worldwide on December 22.
