A year after the Prabhas starrer Salaar clashed with Dunki on the big screen, the director Prashant Neel issued an apology stating that it was their mistake.

Prashanth Neel shares real reason behind clash between Dunki and Salaar
In a recent interview, Salaar director admitted that clashing Prabhas starrer with a Bollywood movie was t a good idea. While Dunki was released only in Hindi, Neel's film was released pan-India in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. Speaking to a publication, director claimed that it was Salaar's producer who insisted on releasing film on particular date because it was astrologically helpful.

Prashanth Neel shared that Dunki team anunced ir release date first and had already blocked Christmas 2023 for release. He admitted ‘it is t a good thing’ for ar film to be released on same day. He cited that it was because date was favourable to m astrologically, release was t postponed to avert clash.
What was result of Salaar-Dunki clash?
While Salaar Part 1 emerged victorious in Christmas clash with Dunki. Prabhas starrer was released countrywide and registered a record-breaking business in Telugu and Hindi versions both. film amassed a total of a staggering ₹406.45 Cr with ₹218.3 Cr from Telugu version, ₹152.65 Cr from Hidni and remaining from or langus.

Dunki, on or hand, performed exceptionally well in Hindi-speaking regions. Rajkumar Hirani directorial put up a strong front against Prabhas starrer. movie made a total of ₹ 227 Cr in domestic collection, as per Sacnilk.
