Salaar: Sriya Reddy recalls Prabhas' unwavering support after she told him 'don't like to do films'
Speaking about returning to the cinema, Sriya Reddy admitted to initial jitters and apprehensions, but Prabhas' support instilled her with confidence.

Sriya Reddy started her career in the entertainment world as a model and VJ. In 2002, she transitioned into films, earning accolades for her performances. However, in 2018 the actress took a break from acting only to return with a bang in 2022 with the web series Suzhal and subsequently in the hit film Salaar, starring Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
Helmed by Prashanth Neel, Sriya portrayed the role of an antagonist Radha Rama Mannar in the film. Speaking about returning to the cinema, the actress admitted to initial jitters and apprehensions, but Prabhas' "unwavering support" instilled her with confidence.
When Sriya Reddy met Prabhas for the first time
Speaking to Pinkvilla, the actress opened up about working with Prabhas and said, "He was really sweet, ever so gracious person and I would always wonder how can somebody be like that." The actress revealed that she told Prabhas, "I was really scared, I don't like to do movies but here I'm and really scared". She also complained to him about the director giving her last-minute dialogues and brushing it off by saying, "You don't worry you will kill it".

In the same interview, Sriya opened up about her admiration for Prithviraj Sukumaran and his acting skills. She drew parallels between Prithvirah and Prabhas and said they shared "attributes of artistic brilliance and innate humanity". When asked about the challenges and pressures of filming Salaar, Sriya said that there were moments of anxiety. However, the support and collective spirit among the crew provided solace.
Apart from Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran and Sriya Reddy, the action drama also starred Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Bobby Simha, Tinnu Anand and Easwari Rao, in pivotal roles. The film opened to positive reviews from the critics, earning ₹95 crore domestically on the first day while it collected a total of ₹178.7 crore (US$22 million) worldwide.
