Shameful: Naga Chaitanya Blasts Congress Minister For Remarks On His Divorce From Samantha

Naga Chaitanya has reacted angrily to Congress Minister Konda Surekha for spreading "baseless" rumours about his and Samantha Ruth Prabhu's divorce. The minister alleged KT Rama Rao was the reason behind the former couple's separation. This didn't go down well with the Akkineni family and Samantha, and immediately they all came out to slam the minister. Naga Chaitanya and his stepmother Amala Akkineni's statements came hours after Nagarjuna and Samantha.

Naga Chaitanya calls Congress Minister's remark 'false and ridiculous'

Taking to his X handle, Naga Chaitanya shared a statement in which he states, "The decision of divorce is easily one of the most painful and unfortunate life decisions one has to make. After a lot of thought, a mutual decision was made by me and my former spouse to part ways.”

The actor, who has largely maintained his silence regarding his personal life, continued “It was a decision made in peace, owing to our different life goals and in the interest of moving forward with respect and dignity as two mature adults.” Chaitanya said the rumours and gossip surrounding their divorce were baseless. “There have been various baseless and completely ridiculous gossips on the matter so far. I have remained silent all this while out of deep respect for my earlier spouse as well as my family.”

Towards the end, he blasted the minister and said, “Today, the claim made by Minister Konda Surekha Garu is not only false, it is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. “Women deserve to be supported and respected. Taking advantage and exploiting the personal life decisions of celebrities for the sake of media headlines is shameful."

Amala Akkineni calls Minister Konda Surekha 'demon'

She also took to her X and penned a long note tagging Congress MP Rahul Gandhi that she is shocked to hear a woman minister "preying on decent citizens". Her statement reads, "Shocked to hear a woman minister turn into a demon, conjuring evil fiction allegations, preying on decent citizens as fuel for a political war. Madam Minister, do you rely on and believe people with no decency to feed you utterly scandalous stories about my husband without an iota of shame or truth? This is really shameful."

She continued, "If leaders lower themselves into the gutter and behave like criminals, what will happen to our country?"

"Mr Rahul Gandhiji, if you believe in human decency, please restrain your politicians and make your minister retract her venomous statements with an apology to my family. Protect the citizens of this country," she concluded.

Konda Surekha blames KT Rama Rao for Chaitanya and Samantha's divorce

In a video going viral on the internet, Konda Surekha can be heard saying, "KTR is the reason why Naga Chaitanya and Samantha broke up in the first place. He has the habit of exploiting women and even heroines. He has gotten several heroines addicted to drugs. He even tapped their phones to get personal information. Doesn’t he have a mother, sister, and wife at home? Why doesn’t he respect and value women.”

Naga Chaitanya and Samantha separated in October 2021 after four years of marriage.
