Shruti Haasan made her acting debut at the mere age of 14 by making a special cameo appearance in her father’s Tamil-Hindi bilingual directorial. She has worked in films of various languages like Tamil, Telugu and Hindi and is now popular as a leading lady in South Indian cinema. She is known for her performances in films like Luck, Puli, Srimanthudu and Race Gurram. In a recent interview, she opened about what helps her in healing herself mentally and how to cope in the film industry.

Shruti Haasan: Generates a great amount of stress

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Shruti Haasan shares perception about mental health in the film industry. She said, “When I look at the flip side, social media also generates a great amount of stress and anxiety”.

When asked about the biggest misconceptions about mental health in the entertainment industry, she revealed that, “In the entertainment industry, I think it's such an image-conscious industry where it is all about the perception that we put out there. That's something that I've tried to stay away from, from the very beginning. And I think for me, my journey has always been about being transparent.”

She also said, “I think it's because people don't necessarily understand the gravitas of how important mental health is in our society. It's always someone else's problem until it becomes your own problem or in your own family.”
