SS Rajamouli Reprimands Konda Surekha For Baseless Allegations Against Chaitanya-Samantha’s Divorce

Congress  Minister Konda Surekha, on Wednesday, alleged that Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), working president KT Rama Rao, was behind Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s divorce. Telugu celebrities Nagarjuna, Chaitanya and Samantha condemned the minister for spreading rumours. SS Rajamouli is the latest celebrity to blast the minister.

SS Rajamouli: Maintain dignity

SS Rajamouli wrote on X, “Respect boundaries, maintain dignity. Baseless allegations are intolerable, especially when made by public officials! #FilmIndustryWillNotTolerate.” 

Earlier, Nagarjuna Akkineni, father of Chaitanya, has filed a complaint against minister Konda Surekha for passing "defamatory" comments about the separation of his son and former spouse Samantha.

Nagarjuna files defamatory case against Konda Surekha

Nagarjuna filed a complaint against the minister in Hyderabad's Nampally district for "deliberately spreading these allegations with the sole intention of damaging the complainant's personal, professional, and familial reputation." The notice further reads, "The statement was made with the malicious intent of conveying falsehoods to the public at large, intending to cause harm to the complainant and his family reputation for political gain and sensationalism. The above actions constitute a criminal offence."

Naga Chaitanya took to his X handle to share a copy of the notice. He didn't write anything in the caption and let the post do all the talking. For the unversed, this is the second legal notice against the minister after KT Rama Rao. On Wednesday late, Rao sends a legal notice asking the Congress leader to withdraw her remark and publicly apologise to him.

Row surrounding Konda Surekha

On Wednesday, Konda Surekha triggered a row by accusing BRS' KTR of orchestrating Chaitanya and Samantha's divorce by luring the actress into a drug habit. 

This didnt go down well with the Akkineni family, Samantha and Telugu stars and together they lashed out at the minister for her "false and ridiculous" remarks.
