The Mandalorian's creator Jon Favreau admits Baby Yoda was inspired by Spielberg's 'E.T.'

'The Mandalorian' creator Jon Favreau recently revealed admitted that the introduction of Baby Yoda in the show was inspired by Spielberg's 'E.T.'

Baby Yoda inspired by E.T.

first scene featuring Baby Yoda in Mandalorian revolves around central character opening up a futuristic egg which houses Baby Yoda. two look at each or before reaching out ir one finger to touch each or. Jon was speaking in an interview with Deline where he revealed that show's executive producer Dave Filoni h done a sketch which was a mashup of Michelangelo's ' Creation of am' painting and E.T.'s introduction in Spielberg directorial film. After first idea was in, art department started generating drawings of moment and VFX artists later brought moment to life onscreen.

Jon expressed furrmore that Mandalorian allowed him to tell an intimate story based in grand story of Star Wars. show creator h a responsibility of striking a balance between Star Wars' creator George Lucas, and also steer franchise into a new direction. Jon revealed that Mandalorian allowed creating freshness in deces-spanning franchise while also being respectful to what came before.

Iron Man director believes that one challenge which every storyteller faces in today's date is over-saturation of content at disposal of viewers. As everything is just a away for people w, many people w have an extended cultural context and everybody is checking ir work. Jon concluded interview stating Beatles song while expressing pressure of working on Star Wars. He regarded George Lucas to be Beatles, and creators working on Star Wars projects to be DJs who play Beatles' songs. According to Favreau, trick is to recombine m both to create something fresh.
