White Tiger review: Plot

White Tiger is a story about a bright boy Balram Halwai who is forced to drop out from school and provide for his family. Since a young , he was ambitious to move out of his vill and do something big as he believes himself to be a “white tiger” of his family. One who has gift of transcending his circumstances.

He talks his way into gaining a job away from home at house of a landlord, who h oppressed Balram’s villrs for deces. However, Balram serves his family with sincerity and loyalty, only to find out that one day, he would be repaid with a terrible fall. story exposes duality that is so deep-rooted in people of a certain society. question lingers, would Balram be able to see beyond limits of servitude and t become a mere puppet at hands of privileged?

As gripping as is story of White Tiger, screenplay is also very good and keeps one glued to screen. direction of Ramin Bahrani is outstanding and has done justice to 40th Man Booker Prize vel it is apted from. Apart from that, director has mand to bring out some of best performances of cast of film as he shows Balram’s various traits through course of film. Moreover, Priyanka Chopra too has given a stellar performance while Rajkummar Rao, Manjrekar and or supporting cast have also done a decent job in portraying ir characters well.

movie has shown only two aspects of Indian society: haves and have ts. This portrayal may t board well with many as a majority of people in Indian society belong to middle class cre and don’t fall in eir of two societies shown in film.

movie has unapologetically shown how privileged class live in ir mansions, completely oblivious to underprivileged class y are interacting with every day. While story may t seem like a unique one at first, direction, screenplay and characters make it a must-watch film. Paolo Carnera has captured and portrayed film very well and deserves a special mention. Similarly, music composed by Danny Bensi and Saunder Jurriaans playing in background successfully captivates viewer and conveys emotions of characters in each scene beautifully. acting of le characters is enthralling and one can watch it more than once.
