Things Heard & Seen, book-to-screen aptation of Elizabeth Brund’s vel, All Things Cease to Appear, directed by Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini, has finally me it to Netflix. film tells story of a young couple who moves upstate in hopes of a better life. But, as soon as couple makes it to ir new humble abode, Carine Clare (played by Amanda Seyfried), begins to suspect presence of a supernatural entity re. film is laced with imry and visual representations of metaphors, and as story unravels, it becomes apparent that film is t what it seems to be. film follows George and Carine Claire, a newly married couple. He is a liberal arts professor, while she is an experienced art restoration expert. At beginning of movie, it becomes apparent that couple is planning to move up rth, which holds promise of a better and more financially practical life. Soon after, y are seen moving into a spacious farmhouse built in 18th century against backdrop of Hudson River Valley. Within a few or minutes into film, Carine begins to tice various things that previous owners have left behind and also begins to sense possibly tormented spirits along way. Murray Abraham’s (Of Ameus and Homeland fame) Floyd DeBeers, who is he of department that George is working in. While supernatural subplot of film is unfolding, viewers are also being slowly presented with relationship-related conflicts that will take story of film forward. In time, it is revealed that George is a Narcissist and a Liar, which are two of most common personality traits found in a couple that is going through relationship-related turbulence.
