US woman returns ancient Roman marble she stole in 2017, seeks forgiveness
In an unexpected package received by management of the National Roman Museum, US woman returned an ancient marble stolen in 2017 with a letter of confession.

In an unexpected pack received by manment of National Roman Museum, authorities found an ancient roman marble inscribed with a mess ‘To Sam, love Jess, Rome 2017’. Along with relic, re was also a letter by a woman called Jess who sought forgiveness for a “big mistake”. As per Guardian report, US woman regretted stealing artefact from an Italian cultural site and even tried to remove inscribed mess but remained unsuccessful.
As per reports, it is still unclear from where US woman h taken marble but it could have been from site of Roman Forum which was also political centre of Roman empire. Following receiving pack, director of National Roman Museum, Stephane Verger told a newspaper that pack was sent from Atlanta Georgia. In letter, Jess h written that she felt terrible “for t only stealing this item from its rightful place but placing writing on it.”

American woman reportedly went on to write in letter that “it was a big mistake” on her side and as an ult, she realises “just how thoughtless and despicable” deed was. mess on ancient marble was also written with a black marker pen. Verger also said that with tone of letter, he assumed that it was a young woman.
As per director of National Roman Museum’s assumption, US woman must have visited Rome in 2017 and took back a fragment of marble in order to gift it to her partner. Verger also told newspaper in an interview that it me an impact on him because according to him Jess is young and “she understood that she h me a mistake”.

Jess sent pack after Cana woman
Jess is only latest woman to have returned an ancient artefact that was ‘stolen’. Prior to this, in October, a Canian woman called Nicole h sent back fragments stolen from ancient city of Pompeii at least 15 years ago and claim that it was “cursed”. This week’s incident involving Jess has reportedly also led museum’s manment to wonder if it was encourd by Nicole that h caused a stir.

Nicole h reportedly sent a pack containing two mosaic tiles that were parts of an amphora and a piece of ceramic to a travel nt in sourn Italy with a letter of confession detailing how she stole it in her early 20s. However, Canian woman blamed her misfortune since n on marbles.
