'Uppena' might release in theatres, to not go ahead with OTT release?

Despite being aware of fact that atre shutters might remain shut for a few more months, makers of Uppena are reportedly t opting for a digital release, unlike many films like Angrezi Medium and Baaghi 3. As per reports, film is based on a heavy budget of a whopping ₹18 crores and makers are doubting wher OTT platforms would provide m with amount, considering ir new star cast. Reportedly, a atre release of film will provide more revenue than streaming platforms.

Coronavirus costs big for film industries

Many studios, which had to delay releases of ir films, have w turned to online streaming platforms, in wake of Coronavirus spread. Some of se films include Trolls World Tour, Emma, Hunt, and  Invisible Man. In March, Netflix anunced that it would be establishing a $100 million Coronavirus relief fund to aid creative community. Kumail Nanjiani and Isa Rae's Lovebirds, too, has shifted to Netflix.

It was recently reported that much-awaited sequels to highly successful franchise, Mission: Impossible 7 is getting delayed due to on-going global catastrophe. Reportedly, officials at Paramount studios have w pushed release of seventh Mission Impossible film to vember 19, 2021, and eighth film to vember 4, 2022. As per a report by a leading news publication, seventh film was scheduled to be shot in Italy. However, decision was dropped considering unprecedented Coronavirus outbreak in country.

All about Uppena

Starring Vijay Sethupathi, Rajsekhar Aningi, and Krithi Shetty in leading roles, Uppena was originally slated to release in August 2020. movie will mark debut of two stars in South film industry, Vaisshnav Tej and Krithi Shetty. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, music of movie is crafted by Devi Sri Prasad.
