Valimai Update: Thala Ajith's overseas shoot postponed owing to the COVID-19 crisis

Thala Ajith's new movie Valimai was supposed to shoot in Spain in mid-April for a bike stunt scene, however, shoot has been delayed given rise in COVID-19 cases in India and Europe. According to Pinkvilla, makers intended to shoot a special bike-based stunt in five-day schedule under supervision of experts from West. team wanted to shoot entire film before y unveiled first look of film on Thala Ajith's birthday.

Valaimai shoot in Spain delayed due to COVID-19 crisis

Talking about Valimai update with Pinkvilla, a source close to team said y wanted entire film ready by time of first look launch on Thala Ajith's birthday. But  COVID-19 cases in India and Europe have been acting as a barrier and have resulted in delay of shoot. team is w exploring new destinations for filming abroad and decision about same will be made after first look is unveiled on May 1. source revealed that  production was w exploring or locations for shooting which include places like France, and even USA. source said that y could also opt to shoot in India if overseas looked logistically impossible. source added all shooting options were kept open for m and y will make final call in first week of May.

About Valimai's release date

Although Valaimai's first look was scheduled for a release on first week of March, producer tweeted that y will unveil first look of action thriller film on Thala Ajith's 50th Birthday. movie is confirmed to have a atrical release and makers are aiming to release it in August this year. However, schedule could change depending on COVID-19 crisis and Ajith wants viewers to enjoy film without any fear. In same article, source said Thala was clear on safety of his fans. source revealed Ajith wanted m to enjoy movie at 100% occupancy and at same time he did t want any of m to be infected by deadly virus. source added y will anunce a date based on on-ground scenario and as of w, y have confirmed atrical release in August.

About Valimai's cast and crew

Besides Thala Ajith, film will star Huma Qureshi and Kartikeya Gummakonda in lead roles. Actors Shivaji Guruvayoor, Pavel Navethan, Yogi Babu, Gurbani Judge, Achyuth Kumar, and Sumithra among ors will also appear in essential roles in film. film is written and directed by H. Vith and produced by Boney Kapoor under Bayview Projects LLP. film's music has been composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja whereas Nirav Shah took care of  cinematography.
