While it does look like mushrooms are being able to spre ir spores predominantly due to wind. re have been certain studies undertaken by many biologists to understand how it actually works. Emilie Dressaire, a professor at Trinity College in Hartford h held research which was later published in ScienceDaily. study used high-speed videography in order to observe spore dispersing of Shiitake mushrooms and found that fungi create ir own wind by releasing water vapour which later cooled air locally.

This allowed mushrooms to have convective cells which move in air in its direction. Thus, even if video above looks like mushrooms is spreing spores due to wind, y are mselves also putting in a lot of effort. This won't be first time mushrooms have gone viral on internet. Previously, a mushroom by size of 37 inches and 15 kilograms of weight was discovered in Yunnan, China.
