Surprisingly, show was never shot in Russia at all. Inste, it takes turns in showcasing beauty of many countries in Europe behind mask of Russia. According to Tatler, show is filmed in Yorkshire, Hertfordshire, Leicestershire and Sourn Italy. main Palace that doubled as show's centre was  Royal Palace of Caserta in Sourn Italy. This royal residence served as  interiors of fictional Palace whereas Castle Howard of rth Yorkshire became exterior/backdrop. Eagle-eyed fans will easily be able to identify Castle Howard as it recently also appeared on Netflix' Bridgerton.

Apart from all se wonders, show even me use of Three Mills Studio in East London that was turned into a vint town to suit setting. Russian court was also me from scratch in studio by Tanya Bowd and her team. infamous yet beautiful Ham House and Gardens, which was previously a part of Downtown Abby set, has also me an appearance here in a couple of scenes. Ham House and Gardens is also kwn for being one of most haunted places in Britain. 

show has also incorporated majestic St Clere Estate into prime location list alongside Hever Castle, both of which are just blocks away from each or. St Clere House isn't typically open for public but me it into show. Great shooting locations also include Belvoir Castle in Leicestershire and  Hatfield House.
