coronavirus pandemic has led to postponement of many things so that rule of social distancing can be followed by everyone. exams of students in schools, as well as colleges, were also postponed indefinitely. Recently, people have been sharing a press release by Central Board of Secondary Education that exams that were postponed will resume on April 22, 2020. This became talk of town as parents and children alike were concerned about news and wher it was true or fake.

Claim:

A press release under letterhead of Central Board of Secondary Education is being shared by people on Whatsapp, Facebook and or social media portals that CBSE exams will resume on April 22, 2020. It also has four or instructions given. first instruction is that examinations that were postponed in rth East Delhi province, India and abroad will be rescheduled. Secondly, allotted schools for exams shall remain same and thirdly, new admit cards will be issued. Finally, evaluation of exams will start on April 25, 2020.

It is very important to te that re is signature of Mr Anurag Tripathi on letter, who is Secretary of CBSE. Ar point that proves that this is a fake press release is that letter lacks an official stamp of organisation, which is a crucial part of any official document. PIB Fact Check Twitter account also termed this news as Fake and have shared that exam dates have t been fixed yet.

fake Press Release came forward after a genuine press release was issued by Central Board of Secondary Education. A news portal reached out to an official of CBSE board, Rama Sharma, who has asked students to wait for official anuncement. PIB Fact Check's tweet also includes link to official press release by CBSE.

official press release has talked about how exams have been postponed and next date sheets will be issued by m. y have given properly categorised information for different classes. For classes 1 to 8, all students will be promoted. children who are studying in classes 9 and 11 will be promoted on basis of ir project work, periodic tests, term exams and ir classroom conduct if y have t been able to give ir final exams.

For class 10 and 12 board exams, y will be rescheduled as per situation and  concerned officials will be given a 10 days tice. y have also provided with list of main subjects whose exams will be held in rescheduling. release also urges everyone to avoid rumours and only follow official social media ps of CBSE board. entire press release can be found on CBSE official website.

People have been trying to search about CBSE postponement and dates since time fake news has come up. On April 2 at 8.30 PM, searches saw its peak. People have also looked for official press release as can be seen on related queries section on Google Trends.
